Some cool things I have seen recently
So I have been thinking about my blog lately and have decided to take a different direction. Before, I would try to write blogs about deep spiritual thoughts, creative thoughts, or something witty. I have decided to leave that world behind when it comes to writing this blog. It’s not that I think those types of blogs are boring or bad, it’s just that it’s not me. I am not a talented writer. So, with that being said, I will start blogging about findings that I make on the internet that I find funny, cool, interesting, or all of the above. So I will start this one off with what I hope to be a bang. Let me know what you think.
First, I will present to you one of the most impressive things I have ever seen. I kind of wish I knew this guy. You think you are a good shot….just watch.

God’s power and the problem of sin
The other day I was reading through Romans 5 and it really got a hold of my attention. A lot of times we don’t take into account the power of sin in our lives. As Christians it is essential that we understand what sin can do if we allow it to take its course in our lives. It has the power to COMPLETELY destroy your life. Too often we look at sin and and treat it as if it were something small and miniscule. That is completely wrong. We can look at scripture and see that it is more serious than we think. For instance, look at the story of Sodom and Gomorra. God wasn’t even able to find 10 righteous person in the whole city. Because of the sin in those cities, God destroyed them all. We can also see in multiple spots in scripture God punishing individuals for their sins. And ultimately we see the power of sin when we look at the cross.
By looking at the cross we recognize that we are condemned by our sin and we desperately need the sacrifice made on that cross to bring us to a relationship with God. When we see the cross it should be a constant reminder of the grace God showed us through His son. God’s righteous wrath was satisfied on that cross as well.
As we look at all of this we see that the reason all of this happened as a result of sin. Isn’t it interesting that it only took ONE sin to condemn us all. That in itself should be a testament to the power of sin. ONE sin ruined mankind. It entered through Adam in the Garden of Eden , and because of that we are born into sin for the rest of mankind. Look at what the Bible says about this very thing:
12Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned Romans 5:12
This seems like a really depressing thought. But it gets better.
Even though the problem of sin is great, it is not more powerful than God’s love. Take a look a few verses down and see what it says:
Again, the gift of God is not like the result of the one man’s sin: The judgment followed one sin and brought condemnation, but the gift followed many trespasses and brought justification. Romans 5:16
God’s power and love is BIGEER than the power of sin. Sin brings death but God’s love brings justification. It’s incredible!!!! The blood of Jesus is stronger than that!

Any Help?
Ok, so the past few weeks my car has been doing some weird stuff. So, now I’m posting a blog to all of you who might be of some service. I need some good car knowledge, so if you know anything please give me some help.
Here is what my car is doing:
- It barely starts a lot of the time.
- When it does start, I put it in drive and then my whole car shakes like I’m in an earthquake.
- Sometimes when I turn it on, my car stays on but my air and radio will go on and off.
- When I go up hill and i try to accelerate my car feels like its pulling a huge trailer and it barely makes it.
- When I am driving and am about to come to a stop my car will just turn off. When it does this, it is very hard to start the car back up.
- When it changes gears sometimes it jerks really hard like the transmission is slipping
I have a black 95 Nissan Maxima if that helps any.

Weighting…
Lately God has been doing some interesting things with me. He has brought to my attention something that I have put off and made excuses about, and He has used the people I love to bring it up. I have always been overweight and I have always been the first one to poke fun at myself to act like I didn’t really care, and eventually this issue has become nothing but a “joke.” Now things are starting to change. God has, first, convicted me of it. God has shown me the seriousness of this issue. God has given me a body and I need to take care of it. This body wasn’t designed to hold all the junk I eat and the amount that I eat. I am now seeing this task a responsibility that God has given me, other than something that doesn’t matter. This idea first popped in my head when I made a visit to a good friend of mine, John Revell. I was in his office talking about something COMPLETELY different and he pointed to a passage that was talking about the sins of Sodom and Gamora (which by the way talks about WAY more than just sexual sin) and it was naming all these sins and in the middle of them was gluttony. And to be honest, it kicked my tail. I know that wasn’t the single sin that sent them over the edge, but it was something that God obviously cared about. But what did I do?….I pushed it away, but it has always stayed in the back of my head. Then, again, my girlfriend, Steph, called me out on it…and trust me this wasn’t the first time. This time was different though, it had tears involved (and for the record that is never a good thing lol). She went through her whole thing again telling me how important it is to God and her that I lose weight and start to get into shape. At first, I have to admit, I was offended that she would say something like that to me, but I listened and it started to go in one ear and out the other. But, somewhere it kind of clicked for me. I’m not sure what is was about that situation that got me but it did. I started to cry and finally saw the seriousness in it. After that, when i looked at myself in the mirror I HATED what i saw. I HATED the way that I looked and I hated that i hadn’t done anything about it. So, every time I walked by a mirror or saw myself on the screen at church playing or singing I hated it. Then, finally, I couldn’t take it anymore; I HAD to do something about it. So, after asking around, I came across Personal Health Fitness Inc. Going to this place was the best decision I have made in a long time. But convicting me of it was not the only thing God has done. He has given me a desire to get healthier. I actually enjoy going there and working out with the trainer! Now, don’t get me wrong it’s not very pleasant, because Jeff Holt kicks my tail lol but it is so good to know that I am finally doing something good for myself. Is it hard? Yes. Do I get sore? HECK YES. But it is good.
I know it may seem that since I am talking about myself a lot, I have done all of this on my own, but that is NOT the case. God has done everything. He has used many different people to show me the importance of this. Even though it took a long time, it finally got through to me. To be honest, I don’t even know why I wanted to write this today. Who know, maybe God will use this to talk to you. I know i have a long way to go to get where I need to be, but I have started the journey and I am excited about the destination…maybe not the trip lol but the end will be nice.
General Bathroom Rules
Every day yougoes to the bathroom multiple times, and it’s inevitable that you will have to use a public restroom. To be honest, I absolutely hate using public restrooms for various reasons:
1) Its usually very wet in public restrooms. The famous comedian Dane Cook touches on this in one of his standup routines and describes it as a “cave” or looking like “a wet dog has come in and shaken off all of its ‘wetness’ everywhere.” I find this very true, especially so in gas station bathrooms; they are by far the worst.
2) You can never be warned about the smell. Enough said…..
3) Obviously, there have been potentially tens on thousands of people to use this restroom. This is just gross because who knows how clean or how dirty these people are and what they have been doing prior to their visit to the restroom.
4) This doesn’t happen often, but people tend to talk to you to try to break the silence. This is a terrible idea. I, personally, don’t like to be talked to while I’m in a public restroom. It just make the whole experience a little more awkward. This is especially bad at church bathroom because people don’t like to be “unfriendly” but the rule still stands even at church.
5) This could possibly be the worst offence in any bathroom. This is bad enough because you have had to use the stall and that is the worst possible place to be in the restroom. And, as you find yourself in there you go to reach the toilet paper and its either gone or upside down. And to be honest, public restrooms are pretty good about having stock toilet paper. But they are terrible about having the toilet paper be put in backwards. “What do you mean by this?” you ask. It is completely wrong to put the toilet paper in with the flap on the toilet paper on the bottom of the role. It should always be going over the top of the roll. This makes sure that it looks neat and uniform. If it is hanging from the bottom it will always have a tail. This, my friends, is the worst offense in the world of bathrooms.
Remember that I am looking at this from a guys prospective only because i can’t say the same for girls. I would like you to take an online survey to see if you have propper bathroom ediquite. Just search it on goole and something should come up.
counting sheep
I started to go to bed tonight around 11:00 PM at my dad’s house and its been a LONG night ever since. Ive been trying to sleep ever since then and i have been unsuccessful. I thought about staying at my moms where i have a King size bed in a nice cool room, but decided to stay here and sleep on a couch in a hot living room. Needless to day i have made a terrible decision. i have class at 9:00 AM and i am NOT looking forward to that. I think the worst thing about this is that while i am writing this i am struggling to keep my eyes open because i am so tired. Usually, this would be a problem i would solve by, obviously, going to sleep, but i know that i cant because i cannot get comfortable enough to go to sleep for longer than 30 minutes. That is what’s terrible about this whole thing.
With all of that being said i will start a pole question and i will do so every time this happens to me. It will be a completely random question and will have nothing to do with anything. So i hope you guys have fun enjoy the poll.
Every day peope are faced with many tough decisions such as how long to brush their teeth to where to eat for dinner. I understand the difficulty of these decisions so i ask you another similar tough decision in this pole. I would like for you to answer honestly and comment on why you would chose if you can. thanks
President Elect Obama
Ok so here’s the deal, Obama was elected president ACCEPT IT!!!!!!
I see all these people on facebook changing their status to things like, “God is in control,” “America is going down in flames,” and the imfamous “im moving to Canada.”
Really? Is that really your reaction to this whole thing?
1) Yes, God is in control, but its funny that we recognize that when something “bad” happens.
2) This isn’t the first time a democrat has been elected president. Believe it or not the sun came up today and the world is still in motion….what a miracle!
3) Moving away isn’t going to send a message to anyone or solve any problems lol lets be honest….that kinda sounds ridiculous.
Now i will say that i disagree with Obama in a lot of different areas, and obviously a bunch of others do as well. But, that is the beauty of America and our freedom.
So, before you go commenting ignorantly about Obama and his presidentcy please think about what you are going to say and make sure its intelegent.
